Kim Graves – Editor

I am a writer, editor, and proofreader from Bristol, England. I specialise in scientific and academic texts, particularly those from non-native English speakers. I am also a qualified nutrition coach and write extensively on health, food, and fitness. I am a CIEP member with an MA in Media, Communication, and Education from UCL.

I have worked in publishing since graduating from Leicester University in 2011. After obtaining my BA in History, I became an assistant editor at Igloo Books, where I learned to write for children, write art briefs, and put together flat plans. I also had the opportunity to commission and edit non-fiction titles, most notably cookery books. I then moved to a company producing industry magazines and yearbooks, where I developed excellent project management and time-keeping skills, alongside copy editing and sub-editing.

Since 2014, I have worked as a Production Editor at a world-renowned scientific journal publisher. My primary role is to proofread and edit articles before publication. I always aim to ensure that an author's hard work is presented to the best it can be. I pride myself on excellent communication and ensuring that all authors have a wonderful publishing experience.

I am also a writer, concentrating mainly on food, health, and fitness. I have published two vegetarian cookbooks and maintained a website inviting female writers' submissions. Here, I write my articles, conduct interviews with inspirational women, discuss issues that affect women, and edit articles submitted by other writers.
